Graduate Programs' Orientation (OTD and DPT)
Given recent challenges in mental health and resiliency, last year we had Emu Aragon from the Counseling Center lead a 1-hour group session in orientation that provided students with strategies for dealing with the stress of full-time professional graduation education such as knowing your “why”, analyzing what is within or outside of personal control, positive thinking, proactive planning, and self-care.
Note that our students have ~25-30 seat hours/week in school, so in addition to being academically challenging, the programs are also very demanding in time.
The session is tentatively scheduled for Friday, August 19, from 3-4pm in Mapp 302.
We expect ~60 students (PT and OT combined).
