2020 Physician Leadership Symposium On-Campus Activities Canceled

In recognition of the growing global concern surrounding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Physician Executive MBA Program at the University of Tennessee's Haslam College of Business is canceling our on-campus activities related to the 2020 Physician Leadership Symposium scheduled for April 24-25, 2020.

Protection of the health and well-being of our alumni, students, guests, as well as the symposium's faculty and the program's staff is our first priority. Our decision was also informed by direction received from the University's administration. Our administration - quite reasonably and responsibly - is following the CDC's guidelines and the best advice from physicians to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections and illnesses. We've listened to expert physicians and agree with them that the risk to you and others concerning non-essential travel is simply too high.

We are assessing alternative ways to deliver these timely and essential seminars to you. Please be assured that you will be the first to know when and how you will be able to participate. In fact, our symposium's Director, Dr. Don Lighter, is already reaching out the symposium's faculty to begin work on new plans to ensure you have this information in a prompt and timely fashion.

For those already registered:

• For peace of mind, please confirm with Tom Brown that you received this message and know that the on-campus event has been canceled.
• You registration for the symposium will remain active, so you won't have to register a second time.
• The Cumberland House Hotel will cancel your reservation without any charge or penalty to you.
• You will receive updates about the symposium automatically.
• Alumni and guests are most welcome to make a visit to campus during the program's third residence period this coming August.
• Details on arranging a visit during Residence Period 3 will be sent to you soon.
